Trust me when I say I normally look like dirt at home. My poor husband is lucky if he gets a glimpse of me when I walk in the door from work before I’m right back into mismatched sweatpants and a tee. I have this thing about wasting good outfits when I know I won’t be “seen”. Like who do I think I am? I also rarely shop for casual wear because I’d much rather spend money on clothes I’ll be seen in. Do you guys hear me right now? I sound like the paparazzi follow me around waiting to sell my photo to US Weekly. Get a grip, Amy. We actually do leave the house on the weekends and I almost always end up taking way too long to get out the door simply because I have nothing to wear. Chris really hates it when I say that by the way. I seriously feel that way though and end up either looking like I’m trying too hard or I just rolled out of bed. So today during nap time I spent some time combing through my closet and putting together some new go-to looks for casual weekend outings. Yes, this is how I spend my two hours of freedom. You’re welcome. Also, just to note the majority of the athletic wear pictured below has never actually made it to the gym. I promise I’ll get my $20 insurance rebate for going 12 times a month starting next month, Babe!
Sweater: Free People Lover Rib Thermal (same as the burnt orange one I wore in the Fall Sneak Peek at Evereve only this time I tied it in the back as shown in the bottom image. You know, the one that shows off the half assed curl job I did on the back of my hair. I celebrated my birthday a little too hard this weekend so this is the best you are going to get.)
Joggers: Gap – I love a good jogger pant! These ones are sold out, but I found a similar pair from Athleta.
Sneakers: New Balance – similar here or here. (Fashion sneakers are on the top of the list for fall trends so stock up, Ladies!)
Watch: Michael Kors ‘Bradshaw’
Denim: Gap
Coatigan: French Connection – old, similar here or here
Sneakers: Nike – old, similar here, here, or here
Yoga Pants: Lululemon – old, similar here or cropped here
Black Tee: Peyton Jensen from Evereve
Military Vest: Nordstrom Rack – old, similar here (you’ve seen me wear this a lot already. It’s a staple.)
Yoga Pants: Athleta
Sneakers: New Balance – similar here
Sweater: Nordstrom Rack – old, similar tunic style here for only $29.99. (A thin sweater is a great alternative to a hoodie)
Tank: GapFit Breathe Racerback
Yoga Pants: Calvin Klein Performance – old, similar print here, also love these floral print ones
Sneakers: Superga from Target (I got mine on clearance in the store for $20 but they have them online for $29.99. A MAJOR steal compared to the $98 price tag at Nordstroms – I’m sorry, come again?)
Tunic: Nordstrom – old, also like this one with the open back or this one with the tie front
Leggings: LuLaRoe (I own two pair of LLR leggings now and they are on repeat nightly.)
Sneakers: Stan Smith (they were described on the Today Show recently as the Holy Grail of Fashion Sneakers, but we already knew that.)
Tee: Lululemon Love Tee(I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect v-neck tee for a while and this is it, ya’ll! It’s the perfect length and stretch. I want it in every color.)
Flannel: Nordstrom – old, but flannels are everywhere now. Here are some prints I like from Rails, Lucky Brand, Madewell, and JCrew
Faux Leather Leggings: old, similar here (I like that the leather is just on the side panels. It keeps them more on the casual side.)
Sneakers: See above. Here are some other styles I’m loving for fall: New Balance in a deep turquoise, TOMS ‘Del Rey’ Sneaker, and Nike ‘Juvenate’ Sneaker in B&W Floral.
Belly Pooch: Courtesy of two kids that love their daddy more than the one who birthed them. Sold as a pair. Price is negotiable.
I’m taking requests. What’s a staple item you want to see styled next?

Oh my goodness! I can so relate as far as not knowing what to wear on weekends. Mostly we do grocery shopping and visit my parents but I end up looking so crappy as we head out the door. Seriously, I feel like I’m more motivated to do anything if I feel great about what I’m wearing. Why that is, I don’t know. You look fabulous in all your planned weekend outfits. I think I’ve got several LulaRoe leggings I should plan my weekend outfits around that now. They’re comfortable and look great too.
YES! I totally get that. When I feel confident in what I’m wearing my whole mood shifts. I don’t think that’s shallow to say at all, right? Just keeping it real ;). I did a previous post on the LLR leggings styled 5 ways so make sure you check that one out for some inspiration, too -> http://www.towittowoo.com/lularoe-leggings-styled-5-ways/
I think having 4-5 go-to outfits already planned out that you know work for you, reduces a lot of the stress of trying to find something to wear when you have 10 minutes to get out the door. Whenever I do a closet consult for someone I always take pictures of the different looks we’ve created and then recommend they create a private Pinterest board of their closet and pin them there so that they can refer back to it when they are in a rush or just need inspiration. You should try that and let me know if it helps! Thanks for the comment – let me know if there is anything else you’d like to see styled next!
Leggings do provide the comfort and the confidence. I always plan my outfits, And what it does for me is that it sets my mood right. I know that I have to wear this and i have selected it so It will look good on me. SO that is How I boost My Confidence.
